Friendly Match: Bacon XI (badham21) vs FC Wonderkids (Pjanic-18)

In light of a hotly contested tournament that is ongoing, you could forgive these two teams for resting key players and taking their foot off the gas, but that wasn't the case in this action packed match.

The game took 10 minutes to really get going, but then both teams found their feet and a brilliant corner led to a bullet header from Tim broker to put Bacon XI in the lead, then only minutes later Sanogo stepped up for FC Wonderkids and curled one quite magnificently from 25 yards out, even two keepers couldn't reach that. The Half continued like this with both sides knocking on each others doors, and nothing came of it until on the stroke of half time, in the 43rd minute, gradel burst into the box and was tackled clumsily by Feisthammel, it was a penalty, no hesitation from the Referee. Gradel found his feet to take the penalty but he couldn't convert, sending it just wide of the Left hand post. Half time was the upon us, and as we went in Bacon XI would've been considering themselves lucky to still be drawing, something had to change in the second half.

The Response to the half time team talk By Ed Badham was excellent, as within 4 minutes of the second half, brandy received the ball around 20 yards out, and absolutely hammered it into the bottom corner, in the words of Alan partridge 'Hes got a foot like a traction engine'. This put Bacon XI 2-1 ahead, and the game continued in the manner it had been going all day, end to end attack after attack, and in the 59th minute Brandy played in Broker on the edge of the box to provide the finish to make it 3-1 to Bacon XI, this would surely see the game out for them, and it just about did, with the help of some last ditch blocking from Toprak and Fritz to deny Saivet's effort on goal, Bacon XI Went on to a 3-1 victory, A Mixture of Solid defense and clinical finishing won them the game in the end, not much to separate the sides today and could've been different on another day. Now Bacon XI must hope to take this good form into the Tournament with a 20,000 prize fund at stake.
